A Community Commitment to Affordable Housing |Grace Gardens at Derby Hill

LOVELAND, Colo. – July 13, 2021 A new and innovative affordable housing land development partnership that is leading to the creation of 167 affordable housing units in Southwest Loveland is set to kick-off with a groundbreaking ceremony at 11am on July 14.

As a collaborative project between Loveland Habitat for Humanity and the Loveland Housing Authority, Grace Gardens at Derby Hill is set to create a safe and healthy neighborhood where families can rent an affordable apartment or purchase a decent, affordable Habitat home.

Grace Gardens began with the donation of a parcel of land from Loveland’s Grace Community Church. The site plan involves developing 47 Habitat-built homes, serving those who make between 35-69% of the area median income, and 120 affordable apartment units, serving those who make between 30-60% of the area median income.

“Our two organizations have a unified voice in our community, because we knew our voices were stronger together in order to have transformational conversations to address affordable housing,” said Cindi Hammond, executive director of Loveland Habitat for Humanity.

This collaboration was made possible by the partnership of many public and private entities which include the City of Loveland, Calvary Church Derby Hill, Pinkard Construction, Ward Construction, Galloway Engineering, alm2s, Delich Associates, BHA Design Inc, ANB Bank, Good Samaritan, and Brinkman Development.

“We are all about partnerships,” said Jeff Feneis, executive director of Loveland Housing Authority. “It’s the only way affordable housing is going to get addressed.”
